Abstract

Walking is a basic ability of human beings. It enables independendency. One can imagine for people with a leg disability standing on their own feet and walking can be very difficult and mostly requires a walker. In the present scenario of market most mechanical or mechanical-electrical walkers available today come with different kinds of defects and fail to offer satisfactory and proper movement support. This paper aims to provide a complete overview of standing wheel chair research trends. Also our work would focus for social welfare .A standing wheelchair uses technology which is assistive in nature, similar to a standing frame, that allows a wheelchair user to uplift the chair from a seated to a standing position. The standing wheelchair supports the person in a standing position and enables interaction with people and objects at eye level. In this research review the main area of attraction is light weighted standing wheel chair. The mechanism put into light is hydraulic. It started with various mechanism comparison made and a hydraulic mechanism was found the most effective one in all efficient aspects. Standard operating procedure and check list were introduced for sustaining the proper working.
