Investigate the effect of TIG welding process parameters on weld distortion of AA6061 - A Technical review

GAUTAM KANTIBHAI MAKWANA, Dr Ghanshyam Devkinandan Acharya

Abstract

TIG welding, also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, is a process that uses heat orpressure to join metal pieces. The electrodes and weld pools are covered with inert gas. Toachieve high-quality weld connections, superior alloys such as stainless steel, aluminium, andmagnesium alloys must be employed. The aluminium metal was invented and produced in 1825.This project uses the 6061 aluminium alloy, which is one of nine different varieties of aluminium alloy. 6061 alloys are used in applications such as intercoolers, oil coolers, and radiators. Aluminium alloys such as 5052, 6351, and 5083 have been the focus of tungsten inert gas weldingresearch.
