Methodologies for Functional Testing of 4G User Equipment in Laboratory Environment

Khaja Fasiuddin, E. Sreenivasa Rao

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) or 4G is the current mobile communication standard which has a pivotal role in our communication industry. All the LTE wireless terminals must pass the Radio resource Management (RRM) conformance and functionality testing before the product is to be released into market. This study reports the performance of functional testing with different test cases in laboratory environment. Each test case has been executed and responses have been reported for successful and failure cases. The results show both the failure and success scenarios for functional testing and help in validating the issues as per the 3GPP standard specifications. Results have been captured using wireshark tool and based on the log analysis, DUT under test is validated for its functionality.
