Abstract

This study has a depth of a logical outcome of indirect and direct rotor current-mode control technique (CMC). It deals with the rotor-side converter of induction generators in different grid fault conditions by doing simulation in MATLAB software; here improvement of the transient response is in focus, it concerns the dynamic performance achieved with the conventional method or indirect CMC method. In this study, two methods were being compared and by its analytical review, result being presented in terms of graphical way. In this study, simulation being done by considering 9 MW grid-connected wind turbine DFIG type generating system.

Keywords: Current-mode control (CMC), doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), grid fault, wind energy, wind turbine, wind power generation
