Modeling of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger
Keywords:
Shell and tube heat exchanger, thermal design, applicationsAbstract
A heat exchanger is a equipment for transferring thermal energy between two fluids. Transfer of heat from one fluid to another is the most employed operations in chemical process industries. They are either used for heating or cooling. The most common application of heat transfer is to transfer heat from one fluid to another. The thermal design of shell and tube heat exchanger is discussed in detail in this paper. The design parameters such as shell diameter, baffle spacing, individual and overall heat transfer coefficient is considered. Also types and applications of heat exchangers in industries are also discussed.
