Probabilistic Sensitivity Analysis of Cover Quantity and Quality of Reinforced Concrete Structures
Abstract
Design procedures based on current specifications do not always ensure required service life, mostly due to the environmental effect, error at the time of construction and underestimated cover properties at the time of design. Moreover, single-point value of any property does not provide rational support to the decision maker. Statistical resampling technique for each of the cover properties used to find out the service life of the structures is thus adopted. The results suggest the importance of the use of type of cement as a durability parameter which governs service life of RC structures.
Keywords: Cover depth, particle diameter, standard deviation
