Mechanical Properties of Aerated Concrete

Nowadays it is very important to make the concrete economical. Aerated concrete is ordinary concrete that contains controlled amounts of air in the form of microscopic bubbles and having low density as compare to conventional concrete. These intentionally entrained air bubbles are extremely small. By using Air Entraining Agent (AEA), cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and water we create aerated concrete. The experiment is perform on aerated concrete which is use Air Entraining Agent (AEA) with river sand and manufacturing (M- sand). Mix design is for M25 grade of concrete for (i) OPC + AEA and (ii) OPC + AEA + Fly Ash. We use dosages of AEA 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% in aerated concrete. For ecofriendly concrete we used industrial waste 30% fly ash replacement of cementations material. By using all this material, cubes and beams are casted for testing of compressive strength and flexural strength. In this study, strength of aerated concrete with river sand compare with strength of manufacturing (M- sand).
