Geo-polymer is a new research topic in the construction industry in which cement is fully replaced by pozzolanic materials like fly ash, Ground Granular blast furnace slag, Rice husk ash, silica fume and alccofine etc. activated by highly alkaline solutions to act as a binder in the concrete mix. The result of previous experimental work reveals that normal concrete manufactured with natural river sand replaced up to optimum percentage by other alternative material gives better mechanical properties of concrete, also workability could be achieved. For the further study about Geo-polymer concrete, by referring the literature and a state of art on Geo-polymer concrete it is known that, much work has done on Geo-polymer concrete with natural river sand and few works done on alternative to natural river sand used in manufacturing of Geo-polymerconcrete. As the availability of Natural River sand is decreasing day by day and causing erosion of the river bed. To protect the environment, it is better to replace Natural River sand by artificial crushed stone sand or other secondary material as an aggregate in concrete, by using alternative material economy could be achieved in construction work.
