Abstract
The present study investigates the behavior of G+50 storey octagonal shaped building
provided with shear wall and diagrid at different locations; by inter-combining all these
parameters of shear wall and diagrid total six models of G+50 storey building are made. The dynamic analysis of G+50 storey octagonal shaped building with shear wall and diagrid at a different locations using response spectrum method is carried out by using structural analysis and design computer program STAAD Pro. All the models were developed for seismic zone III as per IS 1893: 2002 (part I). The main aim of this research work is to find out the suitable location of the shear wall which gives optimum results. The behavior of each model with respect to others is checked for base shear, axial force, twisting moment (Mx), bending moment (My), bending moment (Mz), and lateral displacement at each and every storey. Finally, the behavior of each model with respect to others is described with the help of graph.
