Students’ Perception on the use of Project-Based Learning in Civil Engineering Education.

This study investigates students’ perceptions of the use of project-based Learning in civil engineering, using a survey to collect responses of 84 undergraduate students enrolled in civil engineering programs of three major Somaliland Universities. The respondents were asked to rate their opinions regarding statements on the use of project-based learning in civil engineering education. The results show a positive reception of the PBL method and an increased perception of the contribution of project-based courses on soft skills such as team work, communication and interpersonal skills. Finally, suggestions related to the use of project-based learning in civil engineering were proposed.
