Abstract

It is critical to comprehend the complex interaction between mechanical behavior and microstructure in order to optimize material performance and create solid engineering components. In the topic of solid mechanics, this review article offers a thorough summary of the experimental methods used to look into the influence of microstructural characteristics on solid behavior. It highlights the fundamentals, possibilities, and uses of a broad variety of experimental techniques, including as mechanical testing, diffraction, and microscopy. Additionally, new advances in experimental methods for examining microstructural impacts are reviewed, along with potential future possibilities. This study is a useful resource for academics and engineers trying to understand the intricacies of microstructural impacts on solid mechanics behavior by summarizing important results and spotlighting new trends.
