Kinetic drum composting of Kitchen and garden waste

K.V. Bhojwani, S. P. Nirkhe

Abstract

This paper discusses the drum filling process as one of the best method of biodegradable waste management technique, as it reduces tones of biodegradable waste from environment. And some fundamental investigations are established to demonstrate the potential of harvesting electrical energy from by waste. The energy is harvested by embedding moisture Sensor into the plant (compost) to allow flow of ions and hence generate electricity.  In addition, it is shown in this paper its ability to light up Light Emitting Diode (LED), which grants it a potential to be used for low power electrical consumption appliances in the future.
