Manufacturing Process Optimization by using New Cutting Method in Turning Centre
Abstract
Abstract: The paper is about the effects from a new cutting method. The constant depth of cut is commonly used in a turning centre for machining purpose. The new method has gradually increasing depth of cut nearer to the chuck of the machine. The workpiece is divided into sections and different depths of cuts are given at the sections. By using this method, the overall cut length decreases, the cycle time decreases, tool life increases, and complete machine utilization is possible. This method is first analyzed in software and then same conditions are taken to real turning centre. The effects with table of values, figure and graphs are explained in detail in this paper
