Abstract

Electric Vehicle Technology (EVT) with battery has various problems like high cost, weight, driving distance, long charging time and danger of electric shock. An inductive power transmission such as pickup of traditional transformer enables electric vehicles to overcome these problems by using contactless power transmission. Also, inductive power transmission pickup has many advantages including very high efficiency, low power consumption, a large air gap and lightweight. In this paper, proposed inductive power pickup is developed using series capacitor with ferrite cores and multi windings and is tested for its ability to transfer electricity without contact. When tested for output power and efficiency of pickup, output power of 20 kW and efficiency of 86.7% were achieved at 20 kHz and 250 mm air gap. Vehicles electrical, is an innovative argument in the field of the transports. In this context, beginning from an accurate model of electrical device, is necessary to identify the performances so as to reproduce the physical behavior of the considered vehicle. Particularly it is necessary to start from a model that takes into account several details including Battery and all the electrical loads.
