Abstract

This paper demonstrates a prototype of an IoT-based Automatic waste segregator, which helps in the segregation of different varieties of waste products leading to a more efficient waste disposal technology. Smart segregator can be programmed to apprise about the kind and quantity of dumped garbage so that various maneuvers can be performed. Raspberry Pi along with many other sensors and equipment are used in this prototype. It has an efficiency of 87.5% and takes a meagre 8.25 seconds to complete the operation. Further, we have left scope to improve the prototype through the inclusion of a Wi-Fi module to send regular updates and other detection sensors to make it more inclusive.
