Secure Snap: Fortifying Image Preservation with a Robust Backup System

Ramnarayan Yadav, Saurabh Yadav

Abstract

The importance of implementing a robust backup system lies in preserving critical files against unforeseen events such as system crashes, hardware failures, or natural disasters. Data security plays a pivotal role in safeguarding confidential and vital information. Therefore, it is imperative for backup systems to prioritize security measures. Encryption emerges as a widely adopted method in today's industry to ensure data confidentiality. This project presents a novel computer software that enables encrypted storage and seamless retrieval of image backups in a highly secure manner. The user-friendly interface allows users to effortlessly upload and download image files, along with displaying thumbnail previews of the uploaded images. Upon upload, the system applies the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm to encrypt the image, which is then securely stored in the software's database. When a user initiates a download, the system automatically decrypts and retrieves the image file, ensuring a seamless user experience. This paper delves into the implementation details of AES for encryption and decryption of image files, enhancing the overall security of the backup software system.
