The process of design and manufacturing of draw die has been carried out for rectangular shaped drawn component having thickness 1 mm of mild steel sheet has been utilized for blank material. In first phase, designed an inverted draw tool using CAD software Unigraphics NX which served the purpose of double action in a single stroke. The values of cutting force, FEA, blank holding force, tonnage of press and clearance between punch & die has been calculated. Finite element analysis has been used to explore the effect of die & punch corner radii, stress, strain, thickness of sheet at various places on the formability of rectangular cup drawing with mild steel having blank size 102x84x1 mm3. Next stage involved manufacturing of entire draw tool. The experimental results showed a good agreement with actual results for rectangular cup drawing of mild steel sheets. The variation of blank holding force was studied, 1.2 ton of blank holding force was optimum and get the component without defects.
