Abstract

Abstract

The main source of livelihood for majority population in India is Agriculture. This activity feeds the world and helps in the economic growth of the nation. India is a semiarid region where the climatic conditions are not uniform. Majority of farmers depend on bore-wells for irrigation of their fields. The groundwater table is depleting drastically because of excess usage. The power supplied to the agriculture sector is not scheduled properly this causes issues to the farmers in operating their motor pumps for irrigating their fields. This paper talks about the operation of bore well pumps automatically using GSM technology based on the need of the farmer. The farmer can check the status of his motor, availability of power and operate the device accordingly, which saves his time travelling to his remote field in adverse conditions.
