Beveled Shaped Filtenna for Ultra Wideband Applications

A compact microstrip line fed beveled shaped filtenna is presented for ultra-wideband application. It is intended to work in the frequency range of 3.10 to 11.75 GHz and having the size of 30.5× 25×1.6 mm3. The filtenna consists of a modified three resonators based band pass filter integrated into the feed line of the modified antenna. In addition to this, a modified semicircular like the ground plane is also present. The combination of antenna and filter provides filtering operation and good radiation performance in its operating range. The presented filtenna has advantages of size reduction and enhanced bandwidth over other structures.
