A New Analytical Expression of Channel Capacity with MRC Diversity Over Composite Model of α-μ/Inverse Gaussian Fading Distribution
Abstract
Abstract: Fading in a wireless communication system occurs basically due to two phenomena, multipath fading, and shadowing. A realistic scenario would comprise of both the phenomenon occurring simultaneously. Such a scenario is frequently characterized by a composite model of multipath/shadowing fading. In this work, a novel expression for the composite model of αμ/Inverse-Gaussian (IG) distribution with MRC diversity is obtained using the GaussLaguerre integration technique. Further utilizing the obtained expression of PDF, an analytical framework has been developed to analyze and derive mathematical closed-form expressions for channel capacity under optimal rate adaptation (ORA), channel inversion with a fixed rate (CIFR) and truncated CIFR (TCIFR). Finally, the accuracy of the results and its validation has been done by comparing with Monte-Carlo Simulations and exact result.
