Study of Current Conveyors for Signal Processing Applications

Abstract


Current conveyors are basic analog building blocks used for voltage as well as current processing applications. Current conveyors are used as a voltage or current buffer in many applications. They are used for high frequency, high bandwidth, high dynamic range, better linearity, high driving capability, low voltage and low power applications. Current conveyors modify the limitations of low impedance at the output, tradeoff between speed and bandwidth and constant gain bandwidth product. This paper discusses about various generations of current conveyors, their advantages and disadvantages, applications, various topologies to develop current conveyors and discussion about the various performance parameters of current conveyors based on its topologies
