Influence of Metal Contacts on Graphene Based Chemical Sensor Devices

S. Basu, D. Dutta, J. Das, S. K. Hazra

Abstract

Graphene is a versatile material suitable for the device applications, both under normal and harsh environmental conditions. The graphene based devices require stable metallic contacts, both ohmic and rectifying, for reproducible operations. This is especially applicable to the few layer and multilayer graphene. This article deals with different ohmic and Schottky contacts on graphene. The methods of developing contacts by pre deposition and post deposition processing are highlighted. Furthermore, the variation of contact characteristics with the processing conditions and their suitability for gas sensor applications are presented.
