Abstract

Abstract
The main objective of rural electrification is to provide electric power supply to the rural areas and remote places. Rural electrification will bring about rural development. The schools will get electricity which will thereby improve the standard of those areas. The national grid is not enough to meet out the power supply needs of those remote areas. The city people are not affected by the power supply crisis, it is the rural people who suffer a lot. Also, when the power is brought from very long distance, it becomes an arduous process to provide power to the rural remote area. It is preferably recommended to implement micro generation, co- generation and distributed generation. This will greatly bring changes in the electrification of the rural-remote places. Making use of non-conventional energy sources to satisfy their needs will pave simple way for the electrification process.
