Investigation on the Variation of RMS Charge Radii of Potassium Isotopes Using SKHF Theory
Abstract
Information about the strong nuclear force and Electromagnetic force can be obtained from the nuclear charge radii measurements on a group of nuclei. Recent experimental findings of sudden enhancement of RMS charge radii of Potassium isotopes raised a question about the validity of shell theory of nucleus. This question has been addressed in this article by the inclusion of optimised tensor interaction term in the well tested Skyrme Hartree Fock Theory. A fair agreement vindicated the idea of shell structure in nuclei.
