Abstract

The productivity of any oil or gas well is governed by its maximum flow potential with the available varying parameters such as draw-down pressure availability, tubing sizes available to lift the fluid, and others. The present study on the performance of a gas well delineates the appropriate parameters that are necessary for maximizing the flow from the reservoir to the wellhead surface by utilizing a performance simulator, with nodal analysis as the basis. Nodal analysis is a novel method for determining the operating points of a well. The theoretical results of the gas well were compared with simulation results using the PIPESIM software. The sensitivity analysis of a gas well was investigated by varying various parameters like reservoir pressure, tubing diameter, wellhead pressure. According to the sensitivity analysis of a gas well, the nodal point and anticipated production are observed. With these esteemed notions in the PIPESIM simulator for optimum operating pressure, gas flow rate is deduced, and the variations are noted.
