A Review of Thermal Spray Coatings
Keywords:
Rare earth metals, coatings, microstructure, thermal spray, wearbehaviorAbstract
Thermal spray coatings are applied on surface of metals to improve their functional properties. Thermal spray technique offers the possibility to deposit wide range of ceramic coatings on metallic components. In the present paper we discuss the various types of coatings deposited using thermal spray techniques. The effect of rare earth metal oxides on microstructure and mechanical properties of the coatings are being discussed.
