Enhancement of Inter-vehicular Communication in VANET based on LEACH and AODV Protocol by Removing the Energy Holes

Rajeev Sharma, Anil Chaudhary

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) is a particular kind of Mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET), in which vehicles on the road form the nodes of the networks. VANETs several applications are used in Intelligent Transportation System. The dynamic variation in topology shortens the forceful time of routing. Ad-hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is the important routing protocol for VANET. It makes several unutilized routes between a source and a destination node. The main aim of this paper is to improve the performance and enhancement of Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) and AODV protocol. Cluster based routing protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks have been widely used for better performance in terms of energy capacity. Energy holes are creating fastly drains the energy of some nodes due to nonuniform node distribution in the network. Normally, energy holes make the data routing infelicity when nodes transmit data back to the sink. We propose technology Energy-efficient Hole Removing to remove energy holes. This technology uses sleep and conscious mechanism for sensor nodes to save energy. This procedure finds the maximum distance nodes to calculate the highest energy for data transmission.
