Influence of Wind Braces on the Dynamic Performance of an Industrial shed Integrated with Gantry Crane of Different Capacities

Abstract

Linear structural analysis of industrial sheds often neglects ascendancy of different structural elements over the dynamic performance of the shed. A slight variation in the structure may introduce huge steel demand or it can reduce the demand to a considerable extent. This research paper studies the non-linear response of an industrial shed equipped with gantry cranes of different capacities and different structural systems. The influence of these elements has been elaborated in this article so as to highlight the significance of introducing the wind braces in the structures with the perspective of economical design.
