An Overview On Security In Wireless Sensor Networks

Abhishek Dadhich, Neelima Sharma

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network with several sensor nodes that could be used to track critical and natural conditions. Such sensors can perform processing and sensing functions, and are designed to communicate with each other in addition. It has recently become one of the leading research subjects due to the various areas of its application. Wireless sensor network’s main objective is to collect sensing data from all sensors to different sinknodes (base stations) and then conduct additional operations at these sink nodes [1]. Security has always been a major area of interest for WSN. This paper contains the protection goals; attacks and protocols addressed and checked on the basis of attributes (confidentiality, availability, freshness, encryption techniques, key management, secure attacks and scalability) and security protocols for WSNs based on work by researchers. It also includes the analysis on various attacks and their counter measures.
