Bluetooth-Based Remote-Controlled Home Automation System for 1 Load

Pankaj Kumar Ray

Abstract

The evolution of wireless technology has catalyzed the integration of wireless based automation into various aspects of human life, notably impacting home environments. Home automation, characterized by the incorporation of technology facilitating the automatic control of devices and systems, has emerged as a significant contributor to modern living standards. This technological paradigm shift not only enhances the convenience and comfort of everyday life for the general populace but also serves as a vital support system for elderly and physically impaired individuals. In this study, we present a novel system designed to remotely control household appliances, thereby further advancing the realm of home automation. Our proposed system offers users the convenience of voice-controlled ON/OFF functionality, communicated through a speaker interface. To achieve this, we have devised a comprehensive system architecture comprising two main modules: a transmitter, or Bluetooth remote, and a receiver, or relay module. The Bluetooth remote, equipped with multiple push buttons, serves as the primary interface for controlling household appliances. These modules operate in a master-slave configuration, facilitating seamless communication and interaction. The incorporation of recorded voice prompts, stored in a micro-SD card, enables intuitive feedback for users regarding the status of controlled appliances. Through the implementation and validation of our system, we aim to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness in real-world scenarios. Furthermore, we conduct a comparative statistical analysis to assess the perception of the proposed system among the general populace, juxtaposed against traditional systems. This empirical investigation provides valuable insights into the potential benefits and user acceptance of our innovative approach to home automation. Ultimately, our research contributes to the ongoing discourse surrounding wireless-based automation and its implications for modern living environments.
