Natural Convection Agricultural Solar Dryer
Abstract
Abstract
A solar air heater has been built with waste plastic bottles as a solar collector for drying agricultural crops. The lower part of each cylindrical collector (Plastic bottles of 1.2m in length and 0.07m of diameter) was black painted (30% of the surface area) and attached to greenhouse to dry the crops. The performance of the solar dryer was carried out with and without plastic bubble wrapper film on the cylindrical collector. The drying time of the crops were reduced by insulating the bottles with waste plastic bubble wrapper.
