Abstract

The objective is to use these EEG features for developing a simple algorithm capable of
detecting REM stage epochs. Both these objectives ultimately aid the development of a sleep
staging algorithm that could be used as part of a truly wearable sleep system. Spectral edge
frequency (SEF) is the frequency below which a certain fraction of the signal power
