Abstract

This work presents the shortage of electrical energy which has been facing by Pakistan for many decades. The main cause of energy crisis has faced due to gap between energy demand and its supply. Pakistan in heavily dependent on fossil fuels to generate electricity these conventional energy resources are not only expensive but have significant effects on environment and the government paid huge amount of money to import the crude oil which has pressure on country’s economy. The theme of this work is to describe the significance of non-conventional energy resources to generate electrical energy. Pakistan has a plenty of renewable energy resources. Using these resources will generate sustainable energy supply and will support economic growth. The progress in industrialization and to satisfy growing population is increasing the demand of more electrical energy. To mitigate the present energy crisis the government should focus on these renewable energy assets for economic growth and to up turn energy safety for sustainable growth of Pakistan.
