Abstract

In this paper, for machining different materials, the blending of aluminium and silicon powders into the dielectric liquid of electric discharge machining (EDM) has been studied. Different process parameters like peak current, powder focus, powder grain size, obligation factor, pulse on time, pulse off time, spout flushing and duty cycle has to be specific. The execution of procedure is done regarding response factors like tool wear rate (TWR)/electrode wear rate (EWR), material removal rate (MRR), surface finish (SF)/surface roughness (SR), etc. This study reviews the research work carried out in the development of aluminium and silicon powder mixed in dielectric fluid of electric discharge machining and also briefly describes the recent research in the silicon and aluminium powder mix electric discharge machining (PMEDM) field.

Keywords: MRR, TWR, SR, PMEDM, electric discharge machining (EDM)
