Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study various studies done on multistage LDAC system. Some of the studies were based on a combination of multi-stage with VC systems to make it more effective. Some systems have an equal number of regenerator and dehumidifiers and some have only single regenerator between several dehumidifiers. Most of the systems have liquid desiccant type dehumidifiers but some use solid desiccant wheels for dehumidification. Most of the researchers concluded that for solid desiccant wheel type, there is fixed wheel speed and wheel thickness for optimum performance; and for film type, it is concluded that an optimum number of stage is 4 for direct contact type dehumidifier. Most common desiccants used were LiCl, CaCl2, LiBr etc. High energy savings were observed using solar heatings for regeneration.
