Design and Analysis of Closed Flow System with Varying Various Parameters of Hydrodynamics for PEH

Nitin Yadav, Deepak Chhabra

Abstract

In this work, a piezoelectric energy harvesting system is designed, which can vary different parameters for analyzing the output of PVDF  (e.g. water flow rate, piezoelectric patch, piezoelectric circuit, pressure head and different configurations of installation of piezoelectric etc.). A prototype model is made of this system is made for experimental analysis. The analysis of the prototype is done by varying two parameters (i) Water flow rate (ii) Piezoelectric circuit. Here,  PVDF (poly-vinylidene fluoride) is used for the purpose of energy harvesting and water flow rate is used 1m3/minute to 33m3/minute. For single patch connected with voltage doubler circuit provides the maximum voltage of 5.5 volt at water flow rate of 33 m3/minute. For single patch with classical circuit maximum voltage obtained is 2.86 volt at flow rate of 33 m3/minute. For two patch with classical circuit maximum voltage obtained is 2.3 volt at flow rate of 31 m3/minute. For two patch with voltage doubler circuit maximum voltage obtained is 1.76 volt at flow rate of 31 m3/minute.

Keywords: Piezoelectric patch, Energy harvesting, Water flow rate, Piezoelectric circuit, PVDF etc.
