A Review on Stabilization of Black Cotton Soil by using Different Admixtures

Abstract


The black cotton soil issues led to structural and geotechnical engineering challenges all over the world. It shows the deviation in volume change behavior due to climatic conditions that causes distress in the structural devious of foundations and damage of building structures, road pavements because of its low strength and high expansion. Considerable research is taking place to find the effect of expansive soil. The following article shows the different admixtures are likely to be used for the stabilization of black cotton soil and, they denoted to decrease the index property and swell-shrinkage behavior and enhanced the strength parameters by using various proportions of different admixtures. The admixtures such as lime, cement, fly ash, bagasse ash, Phosphogypsum, chemical additives, natural and synthetic fiber is adversely recovered the index and strength property of expansive soil.
