Utilization of Gaseous Core Based Nuclear Reactors for Efficient Power Production and Nuclear Waste Management

Abstract

Abstract

As long as the demand for worldwide energy continues, the need for nuclear energy will always be in the forefront of the energy sector. However, Fukushima tribulations require us to look for safer and more efficient ways of designing nuclear power plants. Hence, it is essential to look for advanced ways of creating special types of nuclear reactors that work outside conventional parameters. Gas core nuclear reactors are such reactors which allow the use of gaseous nuclear fuels for fission while allowing for reduction in nuclear actinides that end up turning into nuclear waste. Moreover, with gaseous nuclear fission, there is a marked increase in the overall energy production. In this paper, we try to demonstrate the advantages gained by using a gaseous core nuclear reactor.
