Design and Simulation of Phase-Integral Switching Control

vishal S Rangras, Punit P Acharya, N D Mehta

Abstract

The Class of ac power controllers consists of switching regulator which connects and disconnects the load to the supply according to the required power. The two voltage control techniques for regulating the power flow in a.c. voltage controllers are Phase Control and Integral Cycle Control (ICC). Phase control undergoes the limitation of harmonic injection while integral cycle control provides control in integral values only. In the proposed method, both the techniques are combined to provide efficient voltage control and eliminating drawbacks of each other. In this paper authors have reported design methodology and simulated results of the Phase - Integral Switching (PIS) which is the combination of both techniques.
