Reduction in Stress Distribution in Horizontal Well Cementing

Ainul Abbas S, Sathish Kumar B., Mohammed Jameem

Abstract

Abstract: This paper addresses the stress distribution problem and effect on the cement behind the casing in the horizontal wells. The uneven stress distribution in the horizontal well causes crakes and breakage of the concrete which leads to various problems like instability of the bore hole in the affected region and secondly it paves path for flow of unwanted fluids in the cemented channels. Hence, to neglect this kind of problems the properties of the concrete mixture must be changed to give maximum bendable property. The properties of the test samples are tested using universal testing machine and vicat apparatus and the results are tabulated.

Keywords: Stress distribution, bendable property, reinforcement, compressive strength
