Abstract

Abstract

In this paper, we are presenting the idea of new era of electric energy system with the help of smart grid. It is a network of power generation, transmission lines, substations, consumers and the one important in this is feedback loop. This all together makes an effective smart grid. This paper tells about what steps taken by government to improve our technologies with the help of smart grid. We are customizing our grids into new smart grids with latest technologies. With this, we are able to produce, transmit, distribute and consume the energy with in an effective and efficient way with very less transmission loss. This paper gives a broad description of smart grid and its property of self-healing, self-monitoring, distributed generation and two-way communication. The smart grid gives the multiple paths for the flow of electricity and information about that flow throughout the system. Smart grid provides the approximately compatible real-time data to producers as well as to consumers with the help of smart meters.

Keywords: Smart grid, self-healing, smart meters, two-way communication, real-time data
