Speed Detection of Vehicles Using Ir Sensors

Nafiza .

Abstract

The goal of this article is to detect automobiles travelling at excessive speeds on highway roads. Despite the highway's maximum speed restriction, numerous accidents occur as a result of over speeding. According to a recent study, current speed detection technology and methodologies are more expensive and can only identify one car at a time. Many various technologies are available to develop over speed detection systems, including as radar or laser gun technologies, which are less accurate and more expensive. It is required to use an electronics circuit to tackle these issues. This study discusses a vehicle speed detection system. Using this technique, highway traffic cops may easily check for speed. The Arduino UNO, two IR sensors (MD-0138 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor), a 1602A LCD display, and a buzzer are the major components of this system. On the LCD, the detected speed is displayed. Furthermore, if the vehicle exceeds the set speed, the system displays the over speed status on the LCD and the buzzer sounds a warning.
