

Process Plant Simulations Using MATLAB
Abstract
This paper explains the systematic procedure to perform steady state process simulations of process plants using MATLAB. This procedure is illustrated with ethylacetate production process. Sequential modular approach is used to solve the material and enthalpy balance calculations in the flowsheet. Phase equilibrium behaviour plots and sensitivity analysis plots are drawn using MATLAB. Results obtained are compared with the ASPEN PLUS V8.8 simulation results.
