Abstract

Homopolar inductor alternator (HIA) is basically used for high speed application because of its expected high reliability in severe environments, high efficiency and capacity of rotating at high speed. Even though homopolar inductor alternator is a synchronous generator, the asymmetric structure of alternator makes its theoretical principle ambiguous and design of alternator is difficult. So investigation on this alternator is very important. In this study, design and modelling of six phase HIA using Maxwell software is done. The magnetic analysis and electrical analysis is carried out. The flux path is obtained and sinusoidal six phase voltage is generated.
