Trash Collection and Sanitization Robot (Trashbot)

Abstract


Today, the world is facing a major garbage crisis and looking at smarter ways for overcoming the garbage assortment problem. This paper focuses on presenting a robot which is capable of collecting and segregating waste into different category. It is one of the innovative concept used in several industries and public areas for collecting waste and makes our place neat and clean [3]. The robot can travel in the predetermined path by using a combination of motors, drivers, and sensors connected to the Raspberry Pi at different levels to detect the obstacle. The trash is picked up using a robotic arm. The picked up trash is then proceeds to be segregated and dumped into a bin attached to the robot. It is necessary to prevent the spread of germs and illness-causing bacteria, particularly in busy environments like schools and offices. For that purpose sanitization sprayer and dispenser based on IR sensor is installed.
