Need For Renewable Source of Energy

Vishaka Agrawal, Gargi Singh Tanwar, Rajendra Singh

Abstract

Our(human) demands are accelerating day by day for improving our lifestyles in terms of facilities and resources. For fulfilling these demands globally, we are still largely dependent on non-renewable resources of energy like coal and petroleum (fossil fuel) etc. In recent years, Renewable Source of
energy is playing very important role in the production of potential energy. But with the unlimited use of fossil fuels, energy crises have arisen, especially in developing countries. Due to urbanization & increase in population our economy & technology highly depends on natural resources. Extraction and
utilization of these non-renewable resources at large level has cause severe environmental changes causing air, water and land pollution, all leading towards Global warming. There are many types or renewable and clean sources of energies. India has high potential to switch to these renewable sources
for energy production and has taken several steps to move towards it. Proper solid waste management helps to reduce and control several types of pollution due to accumulations of landfills and use of chemical substances, causing soil and water pollution at a major level. Renewable sources of energy are also used in production of hydrogen by various methods such as thermal process, biological process, electrolytic processes etc
