Abstract
Land use/land cover change detection techniques by using LISS-IV satellite image helps to analyze their topographic features and landscape dynamics. Spatial data of 2005 and 2015 satellite images have been studied for comparison of agricultural, barren, cultivated, built-up and wastelands. These categories, indications results has been increased by, agricultural land (36.8% with an area of 80.3 km2) and 45.7% (99.7 km2), uncultivated land [38.60% (84.2 km2 and 29.70% (64.8 km2)], built-up land [5.8% (12.5 km2) and 9.1% (19.9 km2)] and few categories are decreased by their value as, forest (7.90% (17.3 km2) and 7.90% (17.3 km2), barren [10.90% (23.9 km2 and 7.60% (16.5 km2)] respectively. The conclusion of this paper is that uncultivated and barren land decreased due to the rapid increase of urbanization. Agriculture land increases due to food demand, forest land is protected well and there is no impact of urbanization on the forest land.
