Abstract

Friction stir welding has a very high importance in the field of thermomechanical processing. The materials which are used to weld by this process are mainly aluminium alloys which are easily available in the market. Since copper has been the material used for decades in the field of power supply due to its good conductivity it is still being used, need and reliability of the joining or connecting the two material faces a problem. In practice electric engineers are facing this challenge of joining two materials with increasing regularity. The connection or welding between aluminium and copper is required more often than it would appear in the first glance. The present work concentrates on effect of welding speed for aluminium alloy(2024) to copper welded joint produced by friction stir welding.
