Abstract

Abstract

This paper presents a low cost, wireless, embedded system which recognizes the hand gesture of user by decoding acceleration signal. Main aim of designing this system is to sense the movement of user hand and use it to control the electronic applications like movement of cursor on screen which is useful for gamming. In this paper, by using wireless and accelerometer technology, we developed an advanced HCI (Human computer Interface). Here, in this system, six hand gestures on commercial touchpad including swipe left, swipe right, scroll down, scroll up, left click and right click, are recognized in real time. ANN is implemented in system which gives low-latency and high accuracy gesture reorganization. It uses to increase the performance and scalability of system. In microcontroller, ANN is implemented with the processing time less than 0.25 msec. One software application is also developed to recognize the movement of hand gesture. The proposed work shows a device which can achieve recognition of six gestures with an average accuracy of 95%.
