Design Of A Novel Drone For Agricultural Application
Abstract
There are several factors that determine the production rate of crops in agriculture , namely, temperature, pressure, humidity, rain, soli, climatic conditions etc. farmers have been using pesticides and fertilizersin order to increase the production rate and to prevent the crops from insects. But these pesticides have an adverse effect on the health of farmers due to prolonged exposure and in turn prove hazardous for their health. WHO (World Health Organization) recently conducted a survey stating that it is estimated that every year nearly 3 million workers are affected by the prolonged exposure of pesticides and fertilizers and from which about 18000 die[1]. This effect of pesticides can be minimized by the use of machines such as unmanned air vehicles etc.
Using agricultural drones or UAVs are a new and easier way of providing agricultural support and resolving the above mentioned issues in an efficient way. This will help in spraying of pesticides and fertilizer over crops in a precise manner and also the use of information technology will ensure that the crops will receive the exact amount of pesticides and fertilizers that are required for optimum health and productivity. This will also be an effective and efficient device which can help reduce the man labor and its cost by many folds.
